DVCC Winter Storm Disaster Relief Efforts February 2021
Del Valle Community Coalition Non-profit, in partnership with Tesla, Inc. served over 10,000 residents in East Travis County by providing food trucks, meal kits, and water.
AUSTIN, TX, March 1, 2021-- The Del Valle Community Coalition Non-profit in partnership with Tesla, Inc. distributed over 10,000 meals and 4,000 cases of water to East Travis County residents in an 8-day stretch as a response to Winter Storm 2021.
Del Valle Community Coalition Non-profit deployed Austin-area food trucks such as Easy Tiger Bakery, Wholly Cow Burger, and Olaya to 13 different sites spanning from Pflugerville to Creedmoor serving up 7,750 warm meals to residents in need.
In 8 distribution events, the non-profit provided residents with a lack of access to food and water 2,250 boxes of food and 4,000 cases of water.
In addition to hosting their own food and water events, the Del Valle Community Coalition Non-profit participated in an UPLIFT AUSTIN event with Austin Latino Coalition and several other local organizations on February 27, 2021where they distributed 1,000 PPE, hygiene, and cleaning supply kits to Del Valle residents.
